Introduction to Ballet, Dance & Movement for Teens

60-minute-long weekly class, Wednesdays at 5:00

$80 per 4-week block of instruction (members joining mid-term will be pro-rated at $20 per week)

Syllabus

Musicality; Beat finding and counting

Safe and gentle stretching techniques

5 Ballet positions

Stationary ballet steps including plie, por de corpse, tendu, degage, rond de jambe, battement, retire, develope, eleve, releve, saute, chengme and echepe

Traveling ballet steps including chase, pas de bourree, balance, waltz, and chaine turns

Intro to pirouette

Intro to grand allegro

Exposure to simple choreography in multiple styles

Performance opportunity upon completion of 16-week course
